Why does 'The Manuscripts' exist ?

  • Authentic and fearless expression is one of the most powerful pathways to healing, connection, transformation, and a life lived more fully. ‘The Manuscripts’ is rooted in the same belief.

While healing looks different for everyone, a growing body of research shows that creative expression can support emotional well-being, reduce stress, and help people process experiences that are often difficult to put into words.

What is The Manuscripts ?

  • The objects we choose to use, wear, and surround ourselves with and the art we bring into our lives are opportunities to externalise our inner world - our values, emotions, stories, and aspirations. But to express that inner world authentically, we must first learn to connect with it.

The Manuscripts is a holistic creative well-being ecosystem that exists to bridge the inner and outer worlds through honest, intentional, and liberating expression.

Founder's Story

Hi, I am Krishi.
[Meaning: farming, agriculture, cultivation]

I’ve always loved the intersection of art, stories, and design. After graduating as an interior architect from CEPT, Ahmedabad, I was all set to pursue a career in interior architecture while exploring production design for films.

Life, however, had other plans.

A few years ago, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that eventually led to a kidney transplant. Like many people navigating an unexpected health crisis, I found myself asking, "Why me?"

That question became the beginning of an entirely different journey.

I immersed myself in research papers, books, therapy, and conversations around the mind-body connection, trying to understand not just my illness, but the human experience itself.
If I had to summarize years of learning in a single sentence, it would be this:
"The body keeps the score." — Dr. Bessel van der Kolk

As I reflected on my own life, I realised how often I had abandoned myself in the pursuit of achievement and belonging. I had become someone who shunned anger, grief, guilt, and fear into silence without ever giving them a place to exist. My body had been speaking long before I knew how to listen.

Throughout this journey, art became my language.

Art to heal - not to create something beautiful, but to express what words couldn't hold. It became a practice of slowing down, regulating my nervous system, listening inward, and gently releasing what had been stored within me. What began as a deeply personal ritual slowly became one of the most meaningful tools in my healing.

As I looked around, I realised I wasn't alone. So many people are living with chronic stress, carrying emotions they were never taught to process or express. That realisation led me to train as an expressive art therapy practitioner at IIPR, Bangalore.

The Manuscripts was born from that journey. A space where art, design, and emotional well-being come together to help people reconnect with themselves, discover their own language of expression, and remember that healing doesn't always begin with answers. Sometimes, it begins with creating.
